Forsythe Park
Forsythe Park is a 20-acre park located on Bull Street between Gaston and Park Avenue was laid out by the city in 1851 and named after Georgia Governor John Forsyth. It is espe- cially beautiful in the spring, with its blooming azaleas,
flowering trees and large ornate fountain dating back to 1858. The Confederate Monument was erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy to honor those killed during the Civil War. Forsyth is also home of the Fragrant Garden for the Blind. The park features lighted basketball and tennis courts, playing fields and a one-mile jogging course. Our romantic inns in Savannah are perfect for honeymoons and weddings, and are located near Forsythe Park.
